Luray PD: Page County arrest, shots fired

LURAY, Va. (WHSV) - Luray Police Department reports that on Monday, at 8:49 P.M., officers were dispatched to a residence on Woodland Avenue for a breaking and entering in progress.

Officers determined shots had been fired into the front of the residence while it was occupied.

A short time later, Luray Police took Mr. John. B. Settle into custody.

Officials say he has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and attempted malicious wounding.

Luray PD adds that Settle was also a fugitive from justice for six felony warrants out of Maryland.

The case remains under investigation and additional charges may be filed. Luray PD adds Page County Sheriff’s Office assisted throughout this investigation.
