Riley Wyant joined the NBC29 team in January 2020 as a reporter. In April 2021, she became the Weekend News Anchor for the 6/10/11 p.m. shows.
Riley recently won an Associated Press Award for Best Multimedia/Online Journalism for her protest coverage in 2020. She has also been nominated for Best Light Feature.
Riley grew up in the small, charming town of Clifton, Virginia in Fairfax County. She graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2019 with a degree in Multimedia Journalism, a minor in Political Science, and a concentration in Sports Media and Analytics.
At Virginia Tech, Riley focused heavily on sports broadcasting. She interned with WFXR Sports in Roanoke and spent time as a sideline reporter for ESPN3 and ACC Network Extra.
Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys spending time at Lake Anna wakeboarding and jet skiing with her three younger brothers.
Even though she is a Hokie at heart, Riley has quickly fallen in love with Charlottesville and can't picture being anywhere else!
